YURT.

Every year we do an annual ski trip to the Monticello cabin. However, with snow fall being less than ideal, and our friend Scott kindly reminding us about a yurt he had talked us into reserving last year (it was big...planning a year in advance that is) we happily piled in the 4 runner and headed north to Logan.

The yurt is located up Blind Hollow Canyon, and is owned by Utah State. You can rent it out through their outdoor rec program for about $200 and it will fit up to 9 people. The 5 mile skin in wasn't bad at all, and the scenery is beautiful. Best of all, all you have to pack in is food. Yurts are great destinations as they're already fully stocked with pots, pans, sleepingbags, wood, even toilet paper and the list goes on. The touring was great, and we found a fun bowl to drop into for a few first tracks in fresh pow. Good company, good food, fun skiing all make for a great weekend.
